OUR VISIT TO ROTHENBURG

Rothenburg is about a two hour drive from where we live. The old town clock in the Market Square (Marktplatz) plays a scene every hour of the former mayor draining an enormous stein containing over three litres of wine while the Emperor's General looks on. In doing so, the town mayor is said to have saved Rothenburg from destruction.

Rothenburg is full of bakeries featuring the local specialty Schneeballen (snowballs). Schneeballen are pie crusts crumpled into a ball and topped with powdered sugar or sticky, sweet chocolate...very messy.

Yum! Those pie crust balls sure look tasty! I like your haircut, Julie, it looks very nice. Glad you found the time to do some more sight seeing in your "neck of the woods" - That's funny about the clock scene about the mayor. Thanks so much for the pictures!
    Love, Mom
